Construction will soon start on a huge business park in Melbourne’s north in a project expected to inject $3.5 billion a year into the northern metropolitan economy. Premier Daniel Andrews is due today to announce the launch of the Merrifield Business Park development, with 20,000 jobs to be created through the project. The Hawksburn Place site is at Mickleham — a growth corridor suburb 34km from the CBD. The project is a venture between the privately owned Buxton family company, MAB Corporation, and Gibson Property Corporation.
