Construction of the largest paint factory in Australia and New Zealand is well underway in Merrifield Business Park.
Dulux – Australia’s leading paint brand – will be the first business to be welcomed to the Park.
The $165M world-class facility will be ahead of the curve when it comes to manufacturing technology, using highly automated systems and processes to manufacture the majority of Dulux’s water based paints.
The factory will be integral in supporting the Dulux business for decades to come.
Pat Jones, Dulux Executive General Manager commented: “The fact that the Merrifield Business Park is part of a mixed use community with a city centre and residential aspect resonated with us. We could see the potential for us to be in the community over the long term. With Merrifield being in a growth area, we can grow with the community.”
Once operational, the new site will employ up to 70 people.
It is expected that the majority of those employed will be new to Dulux, with the recruitment processes commencing in mid-March.
Dulux will seek people from a diverse range of backgrounds to join the manufacturing team and to help create a great culture.
Most positions require no previous experience, just the willingness and ability to learn new technical skills and work within a dynamic team.
David King, the Dulux Merrifield Operations Manager said: “We want to provide our employees with stability and career growth, and most of all to create a factory that we are proud all of.”
